MR. NAVALNY has Nordic good looks, a caustic sense of humor and no political organization.
Five years ago, he quit the liberal party Yabloko, frustrated ... with the liberals’ infighting and isolation from mainstream Russian opinion. Liberals, meanwhile, have deep reservations about him, because he espouses Russian nationalist views. He has appeared as a speaker alongside neo-Nazis and skinheads, and once starred in a video that compares dark-skinned Caucasus militants to cockroaches. While cockroaches can be killed with a slipper, he says that in the case of humans, “I recommend a pistol.” (1)

I criticise all of your one-star reviews, because you have no knowledge of literature to watch this video.

I think it is important to know what Navalny feels about these issues.

Title is a lie. Muslims weren't even mentioned, it's about weapon storage legalization. He compares criminals penetrating one's house to cockroaches and

flies. There was a pic of terrorist gang, if that's what you've equated it to 'muslims' - it's you who are racist here.

This video was made in 2006-2007.
Russia went through a lot of terrorist attacks throughout that time. Such as Beslan School Siege and Kaspiysk, 9th of ... May parade bombings. All together around 19 terrorist attacks through 2000-2008. Early 2000 was a quite tragic time in that sense.
In this video, he NEVER compared Muslim nations to cockroaches.
He merely compared terrorist to cockroaches.
Please don't take this video out of context.

Alexel Navalny did say derogatory statements about Georgians and referring to Muslims. Грызуны ('grizuny'; literally meaning "rodents", a pun with

the Russian word 'gruziny' for Georgians) is a Russian ethnic slur for Georgians. One of those who used this slur was Alexei Navalny. In 2008 during the Russo-Georgian War, Navalny repeatedly called Georgians grizuny and said he very much wanted to strike Georgians with cruise missiles. In response to criticism, in 2013 Navalny said that he regretted calling Georgians rodents but stood by everything else he said at the time.

don't speak Russian and wouldn't know any better just from watching the video. As someone who in fact speaks Russian naively I can say that it's far from the case.
The video merely infers that when your accosted by bugs you need the right tools to defend yourself and likewise you need the right tools to defend yourself from terrorists.
It did not mention Muslims or compare them to insects. It simply presented a modern threat (terrorism) and stated that Russians need the right tools (guns) to deal with it.
